A deep, complex nose of black fruit, spice and liquorice, with delicate oaky notes.
On the palate: ample-bodied and fresh, with an attractive velvety tannic frame.
Ageing: wine vinified for laying down; slightly hard when young. Preferable to wait 4-5 years, but it can age 15 years or more.
Food match: game or other strong meat (e.g. pavé of beef in a mustard-grain crust).

The Cuilleron family domaine, located in the hamlet of Verlieu (part of the town of Chavanay) was founded several generation ago. Most of the vineyards are situated in and around the commune of Chavanay, which is just south of the town of Conrieu. Yves assumed full ownership and direction of the domaine since 1987 and until that time, has built an entirely new facility while at the same time acquiring additional vineyard property.
