Champagne Janisson & Fils Grand Cru Millèsime 2006
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
This vintage cuvee has a deep green-gold colour. The thin and discrete bubbles flow into a fine cord. The visual presentation of this vintage is rather calm, serene and moderate.
The first nose is also understated. After airing, stone fruits emerge with pralin, honey, dried flowers and fern; aromas that give this vintage intensity and freshness.
The attack is both fresh and enveloping. The sensation generated by the effervescence is creamy and perfectly integrated in the wine. The pleasant acidity is very subtle and the dosage gives a soft and shading structure to the wine. The vinosity is brightened up by spicy aromas of thyme and pepper. The finish is very long and fresh thanks to the hint of acidity. This wine confirms its personality in the universe of 2006 vintage champagnes.
The Janisson & Fils style is a perpetual quest for finesse and elegance. With a unique structure, seven hectares of vines classified Grand Cru and a team invested in the search for perfection, champagne Janisson & Fils is at a turning point. Firstly, the champagne house sets out a policy to master and improve each step of the champagne making process. As a young champagne house it naturally turns to both visual and technical modernity.
Verzenay has 1090 inhabitants and 440 hectares of vineyards and it is in this popular Champagne village that Manuel Janisson’s family has been based for four generations. In 1923 Robert Arnould, Manuel’s grandfather, launched his first cuvée and faithful to local heritage it contained only Pinot Noir grapes. Several decades later Manuel Janisson assured the continuity of this tradition and his attachment to the village by establishing his cellars in the very heart of the Verzenay vines. Although always forward looking he has nevertheless respected the tradition of champagne whilst introducing his own notes of modernity. Like his grandfather before him the Pinot Noir remains the dominant grape in his production and perpetuates the family tradition by making a Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru that is so typical of Verzenay.
