Champagne Janisson & Fils Rose Brut NV
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
The wine is clear and brilliant. A light mango colour with delicate effervescence and a discrete stream of bubbles.
The initial bouquet reveals wild strawberries, followed by wild berries, tart, vanilla and then, at a deeper level, spices such as cinnamon and thyme.
A distinct immediate mouthfeel directly followed by a creamy sensation which overwhelms the palate. Gentle sweetness like light cream with slightly tangy fruit aromas gives it a certain subtlety. The finish is explosive - litchis and redcurrants with a strawberry aftertaste.
A sublime, multi-facetted Rosé, adapting perfectly as an aperitif or to accompany food.
The Janisson & Fils style is a perpetual quest for finesse and elegance. With a unique structure, seven hectares of vines classified Grand Cru and a team invested in the search for perfection, champagne Janisson & Fils is at a turning point. Firstly, the champagne house sets out a policy to master and improve each step of the champagne making process. As a young champagne house it naturally turns to both visual and technical modernity.
Verzenay has 1090 inhabitants and 440 hectares of vineyards and it is in this popular Champagne village that Manuel Janisson’s family has been based for four generations. In 1923 Robert Arnould, Manuel’s grandfather, launched his first cuvée and faithful to local heritage it contained only Pinot Noir grapes. Several decades later Manuel Janisson assured the continuity of this tradition and his attachment to the village by establishing his cellars in the very heart of the Verzenay vines. Although always forward looking he has nevertheless respected the tradition of champagne whilst introducing his own notes of modernity. Like his grandfather before him the Pinot Noir remains the dominant grape in his production and perpetuates the family tradition by making a Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru that is so typical of Verzenay.
