Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
Its pale and bright pink colour is adorned with warm glints of gold and its delicate slowly rising bubbles give it a persistent mousse. This cuvée unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits. Its special method of vinification gives this cuvée a light, elegant flavour, followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberry. This rosé champagne is an ideal partner as an aperitif and can also accompany a dish of wild salmon or sushi. For dessert, it will add a sublime touch to red fruit flavours.
Dubbed “virtually the finest Champagne house no one has ever heard of” by Robert Parker, Henri Giraud is a connoisseur’s champagne. Available only to private clients of the estate until 1990, with bottles rarely leaving France, this estate based in the village of Aÿ has long been a well-kept secret of the lucky few. While things may have changed, Henri Giraud remains a highly exclusive producer, enjoyed by wine lovers in the know, and those who will go an extra mile to find truly special Champagne.
Currently owned and run by Claude Giraud, 12th generation winemaker, the estate consists of 35 separate parcels of Grand Cru vineyards, 26 of them planted to Pinot Noir and 9 to Chardonnay. Claude Giraud ferments his wines in 100% oak most of which hails from the local forests of Argonne. This rare method gives the wines a richness and complexity that is hard to equal. Claude Giraud’s stylistic vision is to produce wines that honour the glory days of Champagne by their flavour, texture and sumptuousness, distinguishing themselves from the mass production that has overtaken much of the region.
