Vinification: Fermentation took place in open concrete fermenters at 26°C. Cap was punched manually every 2 hours and was the juice drawn off the skins after 3 days.
Ageing/Maturation: Matured for 18 months in 75% new 225L French and 25% 2nd fill.
Cellar Potential: 20 years
Sweetness: 3.1 g/L
Kanonkop Pinotage 2016
A complex and fruity wine with red and black fruit flavours. The wine shows farmyard, earthy and forest floor characteristics. Good match with red meat or spicy Asian style dishes when young. Better with lamb or mutton when matured.
