Maxwell Minotaur Reserve Shiraz 2013
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
Matured 24 months in French oak. An intense perfume of red and black berries, cherry notes balanced by savoury oak and hints of earthiness. The wine displays varietal primary fruit flavours of rich dark berry fruits, robust gamey and complex forest floor notes. Cedar oak tones and ultra-fine tannins underwrite these flavours, to provide structure and length. The Shiraz parcel chosen for this wine represents the pinnacle of the 2013 vintage. A small production of less than 200 dozen created a wine of power, purity and persistence.
In 1871 Scottish scientist James Clerk Maxwell created an experiment, that involved a hypothetical creature acting as a gatekeeper between two compartments to sort gas molecules according to their speed. At first glance, such a system could potentially create energy from nothing… theoretically impossible given the laws of physics. This hypothetical gatekeeper became known to physicists as Maxwell’s Little Demon, and has stirred debate in the science community for more than a century.
