Tamar Ridge Kayena Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016
UNDER THE LAW OF HONG KONG, INTOXICATING LIQUOR MUST NOT BE SOLD OR SUPPLIED TO A MINOR IN THE COURSE OF BUSINESS.
A rich and complex nose with strong aromas of ripe dark cherry and strawberry dominating against a background layer of spicy oak and some savoury/meaty characters that should develop with time in the bottle. This wine has mouth-filling flavours of ripe raspberry and strawberry. The fruit flavours are balanced by a good concentration of fine, soft, silky tannins and enough acidity to give definition to the finish which is long and persistent with lingering ripe fruit. It would be delightful with an olive crushed lamb cutlet served on a tomato and chickpea salad.
Tamar defines the heart of northern Tasmania describing both the wine region and the river, the life-blood for the region. For generations the river has been used for trade, discovery and inspiration. It has created a rich, fertile valley that, with its pristine climate, is ideal terroir for producing world-class wines.
