The Urban Project by Eddie McDougall, Old Peak Road 2010
Harvested by hand from 90 year old bush vines, this Grenache is a definite beloved Old Beauty. The purity of sweet fruit flavours, plum, spice, and leathery undertones leaves a delicate, pleasurable mouth feel. The aromas flow nicely from sweet cinnamon through to candied raspberries. Made with artisanal methods and gentle handling, this Grenache has been crafted to become a fantastic wine for now and the years to come (if you can wait that long).
HONG KONG PRIDE
The people of Hong Kong didn't get handed the greatest city in the world, they MADE it. A fishing village that used its harbour to bring the best of what the world had to offer to her doorstep.
You don't get given free passes in this town, you have to step up and claim yours. Why should we rely on others to bring the best to the table? Sourced abroad and teaches a lesson as to what this town is all about.
Established in 2011 as a winemaking project by Eddie McDougall and his team at The Flying Winemaker, this proudly Hong Kong endeavour pushes all the boundaries of traditional winemaking. With the ability to call the world his vineyard, Eddie and The Flying Winemaker flew to multiple regions across the globe to source quality grapes for the production of wine in the very heart of the fragrant harbour. The wines of this series are named after some of Hong Kong’s most iconic locations and modes of transport as a tribute to the old Hong Kong in which Eddie grew up.
This is THE URBAN PROJECT.
